An evening alone

Here I am, alone.  Barb is at a Jonas Brothers concert 'cause she won some tix from VZW and I am cooking dinner.  Or something that might resemble dinner in some foreign tributary.  I am in the process of cooking some frozen onion rings and don't know how long to leave them in, though I did read the package and it said about four minutes.  Has it been too long now?  I am taking them out and warming them in the microwave.  That will work.  Anyways, that is all for now, see y'all later!

July 16, 2008 - Another Wednesday

It is a Wednesday, another hump day, another sunny day, and I am still seeking that ever elusive job.  Thought I would have a good shot with Guitar Center, but when I got there at 0700 hours for the walk-in interview that was offered, all I got was the store manager telling those of us (all four at my count) that had trekked over that, due to unforeseen circumstances, interviews would not be conducted as planned.  He took down our info, I handed him my resume, and he promised to call later with a better interview time.  So, I went back home to wait, and wait, and wait.  Maybe that call will arrive tomorrow.
Also, I am still waiting to hear back from Sintex regarding my guard card.  What is up with this delay?  They sent off my fingerprints and related info to the AG's office on June 24th and I was told that the process should take no longer than 10 business days.  The tenth day was July 10th.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Should I ask for my money back by the end of the month?  I will call them again this Friday to get an update if they don't call me first.  And I will place another call to the Attorney General's office as well.  Jerry Brown, you stinker!
That is all I have for today.

Latest on me...

The latest in my life is that I am seeking a worthwhile job, one that fits my skill set and personality.  Regarding skill set, I have none!  Alright, I do know how to use the Internet and I can talk to people, but I certainly am not a salesman.  (Been there, done that!)  As for my personality, some would say it needs a-fixin'.  I don't think so, I am rightly egotistical and think mighty highly of myself, but otherwise, my personality is as good as yours or anyones.  So, I shall go out and find me a good job in that ol' market and market me abilities.  I will give it a good go of it, at least.  Must keep my wife happy, ya know what I mean. ;-)

Witness on scene

Yesterday afternoon, I witnessed my first rollover accident.  It occurred on Hwy 99 North, outside of Ripon, as I was traveling to see Barb for lunch.  The vehicle, a dark-colored Toyota T100 with a camper shell, entered the hwy from the on-ramp, crossed from the slow lane to the fast lane without signaling, nearly hit the wall, then lost control and went back across the two lanes and off the road in to the gully between the hwy and the on-ramp.  I quickly pulled off the road and dialed 911, while others also pulled off to see who was injured.  The CHP showed up within a minute or two and after about ten minutes and a statement of facts to the officer, I was back on my way to Livermore.  I was a bit shooken up by this event, but am better now.  No one severly injured, just one person involved.  I was recording one of my usual recordings when this accident occured and it is included with this post, foul language and all.

Go TWiTs

I am still listening and watching Leo on his 24-hour TWiT marathon in celebration of the new iphone.  Very fun, lots of cool guests, nice to see Leo on the air outside of his normal hours.
