Beau, our foxy doggie

Beau, the Pomeranian purebred that Barb and I received as a wedding gift, is one smart, funny animal.  He was checked out by the vet today and given a clean bill of health.  Does have the genetic disorder, but that can be repaired with some surgery as I understand it.  Need to get an ultra-sound done.  Could have it done at UC Davis or wait for the mobile unit to come around.  We will decide soon.

That is all.

Earth and moon?

This video from NASA supposedly shows the Moon passing in front of our planet Earth from a distance of 31 million miles.  Is our Moon really that big?  Though I have not yet been off this planet and cannot say what we look like from that distance, I would recommend some healthy amount of skepticism towards this NASA video.
That is all.

Dark Knight

Okay, it is 0400 hrs and I have arrived safely at home after seeing Dark Knight.  What a ride!  It kept me guessing as to what the next move would be and Heath is Oscar caliber.  I highly recommend this film and was pleased to see no blood and guts in it.  Plenty of dead bodies, just no blood.  Aaron Eckhart is wicked as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.  I will post my audio review later.  Till then, good Knight.

An evening alone

Here I am, alone.  Barb is at a Jonas Brothers concert 'cause she won some tix from VZW and I am cooking dinner.  Or something that might resemble dinner in some foreign tributary.  I am in the process of cooking some frozen onion rings and don't know how long to leave them in, though I did read the package and it said about four minutes.  Has it been too long now?  I am taking them out and warming them in the microwave.  That will work.  Anyways, that is all for now, see y'all later!

July 16, 2008 - Another Wednesday

It is a Wednesday, another hump day, another sunny day, and I am still seeking that ever elusive job.  Thought I would have a good shot with Guitar Center, but when I got there at 0700 hours for the walk-in interview that was offered, all I got was the store manager telling those of us (all four at my count) that had trekked over that, due to unforeseen circumstances, interviews would not be conducted as planned.  He took down our info, I handed him my resume, and he promised to call later with a better interview time.  So, I went back home to wait, and wait, and wait.  Maybe that call will arrive tomorrow.
Also, I am still waiting to hear back from Sintex regarding my guard card.  What is up with this delay?  They sent off my fingerprints and related info to the AG's office on June 24th and I was told that the process should take no longer than 10 business days.  The tenth day was July 10th.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Should I ask for my money back by the end of the month?  I will call them again this Friday to get an update if they don't call me first.  And I will place another call to the Attorney General's office as well.  Jerry Brown, you stinker!
That is all I have for today.
